A Wedding at Iberostar Playa Mita, Punta Mita

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita sits on the beach of Litibú, in the Punta Mita area, at the northern end of Banderas Bay.

The resort was built with materials from the region — quarry stone, marble, Guanacaste wood — and its carved stone walls make a quiet backdrop for portraits of the bride. Ceremonies take place in a white gazebo facing the ocean.

The moment I wait for here comes after the vows. At sunset the wide beach turns into a mirror, the hills of the Sierra behind it, and the whole wedding party can stand in silhouette against the sky.
