Sierra Lago Resort & Spa, a peaceful retreat

Sierra Lago is a beautiful paradise lost in the Sierra Madre mountains of Jalisco. Far away from any light pollution, it is the perfect place for a photographer to capture incredible moments. For all these reasons and much more, Ilse & Joel chose to plan their wedding in Sierra Lago, in Mascota, and they couldn't have been happier with the event. This boutique hotel offers all the commodities and romance a couple could look for in a wedding, plus a stunning lake formed in the crater of an extinguished volcano.

Only a short drive away from Puerto Vallarta (about 2.5 hours), this little heaven offers a cooler and drier climate than the coast, especially enjoyable during summer. At night, it is the theatre of an incredible show made of millions of stars, allowing the most romantic retreat for any couple.

Jalisco is full of fun

This region is full of activities for the hotel's guests — from hiking, fishing and horse-riding to kayaking or simply enjoying the pool. In this case, Cinthia from Emmotions Event Planner did a wonderful job and managed to surpass the couple's expectations. Every detail was beautifully taken care of, from flowers to music, with only the best ingredients for an unforgettable party.

The day closed off with mariachi music and fireworks launched to celebrate the union of Ilse & Joel. As always in my wedding documentation, I tried to keep intact the memories that were made that day, and I hope they will be cherished for a lifetime. Cheers to them!
