There are moments in life we wish we’d never forget.
This ability to make it possible is what I love most about being a photographer. You can look at your pictures ten years from now and still be able to remember those instants you spent in Puerto Vallarta.
My name is Julien and I am a french artist who have been working as a professional photographer since 2002 in Puerto Vallarta. I started my carreer as an architect in Paris but my passion for art was too strong and at the age of 20, I decided I would become a professional photographer.
Today, I am 41 and I own two photography brands: Julien Leveau for wedding and family documentations and, Arcencielstudio, for commercial and architecture photography as well as video production.
I spend most of my time between my family and my camera.
When I am capturing a wedding or doing a family session, I like to take pictures that can tell your story. That’s why I spend around 90% of the documentation time doing photojournalism, capturing moments without interfering with the natural course of the event.

Let’s face it, when hiring a professional photographer, we expect creativity and most of all, we want to look sharp and make a magazine quality picture. So that’s how we spend the other 10%. I will find a spot that is spectacular and I will use lighting effects to make a fine art shot that will make you shine.

When I first stepped in Puerto Vallarta, I knew this was the end of my journey and that I would spend the rest of my life here. To me the whole Banderas Bay is spectacular and worthy of shooting. Obviously, throughout the years, I have some spots I particularly apreciate. If you seek romantic pictures, I recommend the Malecon, the Cuale Island or one of the many beaches of the South Shore like Conchas Chinas. If you are more adventurous, we can take a boat to the Marietas Islands or organize a trip to Mayto.

Besides my work as a wedding photographer, I am also working as an architecture photographer for hotels and restaurant in Banderas Bay and in Mexico in general. I work with a team able to produce full services in aerial photography, architecture photography and video production.

Since 2013 I have been membered by the prestigious ISPWP (International society of wedding photographer) and BOWP (best of wedding photography). I am also a member of Fearless Photographer and Wedding photographer Society.
Oscar, 3/4/17 – Wedding photography
Outstanding service and “out of the box” kind of approach which is EXACTLY what we wanted. We desired that our photos not be like everyone else’s standard set of the typical formal and stuffy ones. Se we selected a unique venue (Casa Kimberly–former home of famous movie star Elizabeth Taylor–which was fabulous) and dressed in linen with rolled up sleeves. The “vibe” was sophisticated, fresh, yet fun and conversational. Julien was EXCELLENT and surpassed our expectations…..especially in the creativity department.
Some creative examples: There are amazing crystal chandeliers at our venue and he took photos of us thru the dangling crystals with all the twinkling effects producing exquisite photos. There was also runoff water (not planned or expected) in the street near Lovers Arch at the location. Julien got on the ground and practically had his body in that mud puddle in order to capture our reflection in the water which is among our most favorite ones of all. Lastly, incorporation of the beautiful Spanish architecture and the live mariachi band made for some other favorites as well. The use of the sunset and timing for lighting was superb!
I would be remiss if I failed to mention that we are gay adult professionals and were made to feel welcomed, supported, and encouraged by Julien! He even encouraged more affection be displayed (he would say. “be yourself and feel free to touch as you would if this were your home/friends) for some of the photos because he sensed we were guarded.
Gabriel, 4/1/17 – Wedding photography
We are very grateful with Julien’s work , all his photos were amazing. I really liked his passion to do his work, we had to race to take advantage of several locations but in the end it was worth it. One of the things that convinced me to contract their services was to compare complete event galleries, many photographers only rescue some good photos of an event, while Julien can capture many excellent photos from the same event.
Paola, 8/8/15 – Wedding Photography
I was not able to attend my daughter’s wedding because of surgery. Julien’s photos make me feel as if I experienced the event firsthand. Ashley told me she is 100% thrilled with all of the work Julien did and that he was a dream to work with. I cannot imagine any photographer doing a more artistic and comprehensive job for a bride and groom.
